“One of the most unique kindle reads I’ve come across” - John Weiler – Author of An Ordinary Dude’s Guide to Meditation
I used to be a writer for National Geographic's Alaska State Troopers, so I've seen my fair share of real life cop action. Like Alaska State Troopers, this book gets into the nitty gritty details of what it's like to really be a cop. With that said, there's a nice touch of humor throughout this book that will make you laugh one minute, and then make you cringe the next with some sometimes gory and disturbing descriptions. The sharp sense of wit helps balance out some of the more graphic details.
Lastly, the storytelling is well done as is the content. A well-written book indeed, and I'm tempted to say one of the most unique kindle reads I've come across.
“A clear insider’s view” - Judson Somerville MD – Author of The Optimal Dose
First of all, I love her writing style as easy on my brain, to the point and no wasted effort! Then the content! That’s the best part. Not only a clear insider’s view of what it’s like to be a police officer but lots of cool crime stories. Though I have no interest in becoming a police officer I can see this book becoming the must read for anyone considering it. Like House of God is in my profession! Highly recommend!
"Good Cop Girl Cop is quite a read !!!” – Kathy Flora – Author of Walking My Momma Home
I just finished reading Good Cop Girl Cop, and it is quite a read! This book gives the reader a raw and realistic picture of the true life of a cop, from the Academy to retirement, years later. The author tells us her own story in her unique cop's vernacular, (Yes, she is the Good Cop of the story.) walking us through the adventures, misadventures, gut-wrenching experiences and sometimes profane encounters in a way that really brings her experience home. She caps off the story with Life Lessons that apply not just to those working as first responders, but to all of us who want to live aware, awake, and "in charge" lives. The author tells it like it is and it will curl your hair. If you know someone who is contemplating joining the police force, or if you would enjoy a story of a woman thriving in a more-than-challenging profession, this book is a must-read.
"I cringed and laughed out loud at the same time !!!" - Monica Rubombora - Founder and MD - Rubo (Pty)Ltd – Johannesburg
This book is so funny, OMG !! Lisa tells the story of her career in a most fascinating colourful way, and oh yeah! she does swear like a truck driver. She makes a police officer's job sound like such fun. And yes, no amount of training can prepare you for this kind of sh**.!! I now have a renewed respect for cops. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and anyone, wherever you are in your career, should read this book. It will give you a refreshing perspective on life.
